As a child of a military family, lived in a dark, cold climate (Alaska) and a bright, hot climate (Florida), and I am now happy to have finally settled in North Carolina, with its four beautiful and reasonable seasons.I graduated from NCSU, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.Sharing the vet school adventure, Holly Weston and I became friends and were pleased to work together again when we opened Jordan Lake Animal Hospital in 2001. I have had pets all my life and have been amazed, intrigued, and in love with all of them. They are unforgettable and have been and are still deeply entwined in my life. Before going back to school to become a veterinarian, I worked as a veterinary assistant for 14 years. Having met many people with their pets, I know my feelings about pets are not unique. My husband, Shay Garriock, plays the fiddle and has a fiddle and violin shop in Pittsboro. We are lucky to have each other because without me he would not have 5 cats (Tennison, Nicholas, Georgie Girl, Cody, and Little Tree) and 3 dogs (Strider, Cletus, and Stoli) livening up the home, and without him I would not have fiddle and old time music livening up the home.

I graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After graduation, I worked in the clinical pathology department at NCSU doing research and teaching before entering private practice. In 2001 Leslie and I opened Jordan Lake Animal Hospital. I've lived most of my life in North Carolina, but I spent one year in Quito, Ecuador and three years in Key West, Florida. I've lived in Chatham County since 1998 and absolutely love the small town life and all the friendly folks here. My husband, Parker, and I share our home with a wonderful yellow lab named Obie and two amazing cats, Oliver and Jordy. Our home in the country is the perfect setting for some of the things I enjoy running, birding, butterflying, gardening and walking with Obie. Reading and kitty cuddle time are also among life's simple pleasures for me.
